• Profile information: Business name, location, service categories, bio, certifications, and profile photos (for service providers).
• Job posts: Job titles, descriptions, boat details, photos, and location (for boat owners).
• Messages: Communications between boat owners and service providers through our messaging system.
• Reviews: Ratings and written reviews submitted after a job is completed.
• Usage data: Basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Operate the platform, including matching boat owners with service providers.
• Facilitate messaging and proposals between users.
• Send transactional email notifications (new messages, proposals, hiring updates, and job status changes).
• Send marketing emails such as new job alerts to service providers (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• Improve the platform and troubleshoot issues.
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. Email Communications

By creating a Jobcuda account, you agree to receive transactional emails related to your account activity (such as new messages, proposals, and hiring notifications). These emails are necessary for the platform to function and cannot be disabled.

We may also send marketing emails, such as new job alerts for service providers. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe from marketing emails" link in the footer of any marketing email, or by contacting us at team@jobcuda.com.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Other users: Profile information and job posts are visible to other users as necessary for the platform to function (e.g., your provider profile is visible to boat owners browsing proposals).
• Service providers: We use trusted third-party services including Supabase (database and authentication), Resend (email delivery), and Stripe (payments). These providers process your data only as necessary to provide their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. Your account is protected by password authentication and our database is secured with row-level security policies. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
